General Questions about Myspace code, layouts, etc

Here are some quick questions about myspace that people have asked me before; I thought it might be a good idea to just list them here and leave other posts for lengthier questions/answers. If you have more questions, leave a comment in this post.

Question: How to insert an animated picture as the default picture on a MySpace Profile?
Answer: You can only do it with animated GIFs. Just upload it and set it to default. It’s not impossible to grab a clip from a youtube video as the default pic, but you have to transform the youtube video into an animated GIF. I can do it for a small donation or you can get Macromedia Flash and export the youtube flv file into animated flash.

Question: I cancelled my myspace account and want to know if its possible to recover the old account/profile?
Answer: Sorry, its impossible. When you cancel it, you erase it completely and cannot restore it.

Question: What steps do I take to take people off my myspace?
Answer: Go to your home page on myspace.com and click “edit friends” above the picture boxes of your top friends. It takes you to a screen with boxes that you can check of who you want to delete. Then scroll down and click “delete selected.”

Question: How do I set my myspace profile as private or make it public?
Answer: Once signed in on the main page, go to “Account Settings” which is a couple lines under “Edit Profile”. Then go to “Privacy Settings” which is also a few lines down. Then check the option you want under “Who Can View My Full Profile”, which is the first box.

Question: How do you tell if the profile of a famous person is authentic on myspace?
Answer: Check their friends and profile views. If they are famous they will have thousands.

Question: Some people create fake myspace accounts by stealing all pictures and info from a real account and connect with your friends. How can you figure the person’s email/contact info or stop this from happening?
Answer: Its really easy to create a fake myspace account so there is no way of tracking or figuring out that person’s contact information. I would suggest that you take a picture of yourself holding a paper with your real myspace url on it and then send the picture to the myspace staff and give them the fake url and they should erase it.

Question: There are many myspace trackers that do not work, is there one that works?
Answer: Yes, there is only one that is free and it works. Everything else out there is filled with spyware and I recommend not clicking on any of that crap. The only MySpace Tracker that works is TrakZor but it will only figure out who seen your myspace profile if the viewer is also a member of TrakZor. Otherwise, you only get location.
